FAQ

Q: What's the best use of a RapidFire Video?

A: While many customers will use a RapidFire Video as a product introduction or marketing promotion on their websites, post to YouTube, FaceBook, etc., we really see the greatest value as what we call "Casual Meeting Follow-up".

Think about the times you've come back from a conference with a stack of business cards and found that people didn't really remember who you were when you tried to follow up. At just a couple of megabytes, a typical RapidFire Video is incredibly easy to e-mail as an attachment either as a cold-call, or a follow-up to a quick conversation.

Basically, it helps capture the passion and excitement you can generally only get across face-to-face. When you do finally get the meeting, you can skip right to the guts of the discussion instead of a drawn-out PPT presentation starting from square 1.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: First, we can pretty much guarantee that using the RapidFire Video approach will cost you significantly less than a mainstream Flash/Web design house. We're talking less than half, and probably closer to a quarter of the final cost. We have a lot less overhead and the "raw materials" take less time to build from. This all means it's an easier decision, with a lot less risk to you. In the uncertain world of Marketing expense, that's a key factor.

The four basic variables that determine the prices of a RapidFire Video product demo are:
  1. Raw material. How much we have to "create" the promo message vs. having you provide us with a clear set of marketing materials or outline about what you want to get across; rarely does the process require face-to-face meetings. We generally work by email/phone.
  2. Complexity of message. There are businesses and services who can explain what they do easily and lend themselves to graphic representation naturally -- others need more work and creativity.
  3. Video duration. We generally recommend 1.5 to 2 minutes, unless there's a reason for it to be longer.
  4. Single movie vs. a series. Obviously, there's a discount for multiple movies.

Once we discuss your project, we can give you a price quote on the spot.

Oh, and each video demo/promotion project includes tweaks and small changes for a second version if the product message changes slightly within six months following project completion. This allows you to get going, even if "we have our next release in three months."

Q: People are going to ask me who did my video. Do you value referrals?

A: We'd like to hope that most new business will come from word-of-mouth. So in the event that you provide us with a new customer through a direct, confirmed word-of-mouth based recommendation, we'll give you 25% of the cost back for each referral, good toward your next video. In other words, send us four new customers and your next video is free!

Q: What is included in the project?

A: Production services for your product demo include script creation, licensed photos and other art, high quality voice narration, sound effects if required, and production in WMV and QuickTime formats, in various sizes (640X480 for web use, 800X600 for e-mailing, and 1024X768 for on-screen presentations).

Q: When in the process do I participate?

A: You'll will be presented with material for review at the following stages. Each stage requires feedback, by e-mail with comments, request, questions, and ultimately a go-ahead.

  • Initial script
  • Final script with basic notation regarding visual components
  • Initial combination of audio with visual elements
  • Final combination of audio and visual elements

Q: What happens if, as we move along, we both agree that it has turned out to be more complicated than planned?

A: If, during the script-writing process (or later), it becomes clear to both parties that the video is to become more complex and/or longer in duration, RapidFire Video will provide a mutually agreed-upon amendment to our initial proposal with any necessary change in pricing. You're welcome to reject said amendment, and either request adherence to the original plan, or terminate the project with a 20% payment for time invested. This is a very rare scenario.

Q: If I really want it, will you include some interactive Flash?

A: Sorry, no. That's not our business, expertise, or methodology; we firmly believe that if you have a strong, powerful message, it's better transmitted cleanly and directly, sounding like a "human" conversation, without excess bells and whistles.

The presentation style of your demo video will follow the general guidelines of the samples found at www.rapidfirevideo.com: clear, compelling, entertaining messages without the use of Flash, interactive elements or complex animations. Our approach is keep the process inexpensive, quick and flexible for you, while achieving the same reactions from customers as does a product produced by a high-end, expensive web design house.
